The South Okanagan is
accessible from any direction with a multitude of routes allowing
the visitor several options depending upon their scheduling priorities.
Route 5 from Vancouver is a toll route with a $10 charge per car. The
Speed limit is 110 KPH (70 MPH for our American cousins) and
the route is all divided 4 and 6 lane highway. Once in Merritt,
take 97C to Peachland, head south and start your tour.
The alternative from Vancouver is to take Route 3 from Hope to
Keremeos and then head south to Osoyoos or north along 3A to
Penticton. Speed limits are 80-90 KPH.
From the east, take the Trans-Canada Highway (#1) to Sicamous and head
south, or follow Route 3 through the Crowsnest Pass which will bring you to
Osoyoos on the American border at the southern end of the Okanagan.
American visitors, simply head north on Highway 97 through Oroville,
Washington and experience the warmth of our climate and residents.
Gallagher Lake is located 9 km (6 miles) south of Okanagan Falls and 8 km (5 miles) north of Oliver on Highway 97.
