"taking the Okanagan to the world"

Greetings from Okanagan Impact, your comprehensive source of information for complete vacation planning in the South Okanagan. Our index lists motels, hotels, campgrounds, RV parks, wineries, golf courses and every other business or service that you may require while visiting or staying in the South Okanagan.

The South Okanagan is a long, narrow, lake-filled valley that is a paradise for vacationers, naturalists, golfers, skiers, snowbirds and retirees. Numerous beaches, campgrounds, bed and breakfasts, motels and hotels dot the landscape from Penticton to Okanagan Falls, Oliver and Osoyoos. The climate is envied by all, as we enjoy hot summers and mild winters with minimal rain and snowfall.

The mild winters create the perfect wintertime retreat for frost weary denizens of our colder Canadian climes. Spring arrives early with most garden planting taking place a month or two earlier than on the prairies. Surrounding golf courses are played every month of the year. We have the only desert ecosystem in Canada with native species of cactus and other flora present. Orchards abound and fresh fruit and produce are available from May until the fall. Whereas July and August bring hordes of tourists, April, May, June, September and October are positively delightful months to visit. Uncrowded highways create a relaxing tour with plenty of opportunities to golf, swim or just relax in one of the many affordable motels and campgrounds. Our wineries are world renowned and offer tours throughout the year.

If you have the time and are unencumbered, then the spring and fall are the optimal times to insure a relaxing and enjoyable holiday here in the South Okanagan! If you would like to enjoy a comfortable winter, check out the cost of accommodation at any one of the many motels with reduced rates to attract snowbirds to paradise. And of course you will be paying in Canadian dollars and your medical insurance worries are non-existent. The South Okanagan is an ideal year-round retreat!
